Oakmere School is a busy place, there is always so much going on. Each new term brings with it more exciting events, performances and fundraising activities, so it’s a good job that everyone involved is so dedicated and hardworking or we’d never get it all done! From breakfast and after-school clubs, homework challenges and concerts, to marathons, Easter egg hunts and Red Nose Day activities, you name it, we do it with great success.
Our teachers are a source of inspiration. Their hard work and creative lesson planning really brings learning to life. In return our children are eager to learn and enjoy school life to the fullest. Year on year we watch them flourish, becoming more and more independent and ready for the exciting things that lie ahead.
As a caring, responsible school we try to be as green as we possibly can be. From their very first day, our children are taught to adopt good environmental conduct: recycling, re-using materials, saving paper, water and energy, not dropping litter and caring for wildlife. Our fascinating woodland area is the perfect place for children to explore the natural world at first-hand and understand its importance and charm.
Proud to be a school at the heart of its community, we enjoy close links with the Potters Bar Children’s Centre and St John’s Nursery Playgroup, both located onsite and offering excellent childcare services. The Children’s Centre offers families affordable, first-class childcare alongside family support and healthcare services. St John’s Nursery Playgroup works in partnership with the school’s Foundation Stage unit and the Children’s Centre.
